Fixin
BurgundyFixin is a red wine produced in the Burgundy wine region of France. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes and is considered one of the region's oldest wines. It is produced in the villages of Fixin, Brochon and Couchey, all situated on the slopes of the Côte de Nuits.
The vineyards of Fixin are cultivated on clay-limestone and granitic soils, which give the wine its unique and complex character. The wine is characterized by red fruit aromas, blackcurrant and cherry, accompanied by notes of cedarwood and leather. It is also known for its balanced tannic structure and persistent finish.
Fixin is often regarded as the "little brother" of the region's great wines, such as Gevrey-Chambertin and Chablis. However, it is equally delicious and deserves to be discovered. It pairs well with red meat dishes, cheese and charcuterie. It can be enjoyed young or aged, according to individual preference.
