Dry Bordeaux White
South-West FranceDry Bordeaux white is a white wine produced in the Bordeaux region of France. It is made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle grapes. Sauvignon Blanc brings aromas of exotic fruits, grapefruit, and blackcurrant leaves. Sémillon contributes stone fruit aromas, honey, and quince paste notes. Muscadelle adds aromas of dried fruits and flowers.
Dry Bordeaux white is typically aged in oak barrels, which impart vanilla and hazelnut aromas. It has good acidity that provides a pleasant freshness on the palate. It is often described as balanced, complex, and elegant.
It is ideal for pairing with fish or seafood dishes, but can also be enjoyed with poultry or even cheese. It is equally suited as an aperitif among friends.
Dry Bordeaux white can be enjoyed young or aged. Young wines display fresh fruit aromas and good acidity, while aged wines develop riper fruit notes and greater complexity. The most expensive and prestigious dry white Bordeaux wines are produced in the Pessac-Léognan and Graves appellations.
