Chasselas or Gutedel
Alsace & Eastern FranceChasselas wine, also known as Gutedel in Switzerland, is a dry white wine produced primarily in the wine regions of Switzerland, France, and Germany. It is known for its delicate aroma and fruity flavor, with notes of apple and pear.
Chasselas is an ancient grape variety that dates back to Roman times. It has been cultivated for centuries in Switzerland, where it is considered the national grape variety. It is particularly popular in the wine regions of Fribourg and Vaud, where it is grown on calcareous and granitic soils.
Gutedel is a table wine that pairs perfectly with light dishes and fish. It is also an excellent aperitif, ideal for serving with cheese and dried fruits. It is generally served chilled, between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius, to highlight its fruity aromas and freshness.
Chasselas is a wine that has maintained its authenticity despite the evolution of modern wine production. It is produced according to traditional methods, with particular attention paid to the quality of the grapes and respect for the environment. It is therefore a wine that respects both environmental and traditional values.
