Ingredients for 8 servings
- 560 g of type 55 flour
- 12 g of dehydrated baker's yeast
- 220 ml of milk (22 cl)
- 100 ml of water (10 cl)
- 50 g of whole butter
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 9 g of salt
- 1 egg
- sesame or flax seeds
This recipe is a compilation of several recipes, tested, corrected, retested... and here is a guaranteed result of small hamburger buns that are absolutely foolproof and delicious.
1- In a bowl mix flour, salt, yeast.
2- In a saucepan warm the milk, water, butter and honey.
3- Make a well in the bowl and add the warm mixture then an egg.
4- Mix then to obtain a ball then knead by hand or machine for 5 to 8 minutes to obtain a nice elastic dough.
Cover with a clean cloth and let rest for 1 hour in a warm place.
5- Shape with your lightly floured hands 8 balls of about 120g or 12 balls of 80g place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
6- Cover them and let them rest for another half hour.
7- Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas mark 6)
8- Brush the buns with milk using a brush and add a few seeds (sesame, flax etc...)
9- Bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes.
There you have it, now all you have to do is fill your hamburgers according to your current desires and believe me, you won't buy your buns from the store anymore...
