Recipe: Baked Apples with Vanilla and Spices
Step-by-step directions
1 Thoroughly clean the apples and remove the cores using an apple corer. Cut the vanilla pods in half, then split them lengthwise.
2 Preheat the oven to 355°F (180 °C) (350 °F).
3 Butter a baking dish or individual dishes and place the apples inside. Insert the vanilla and raisins into the apple cores.
4 Place the cinnamon sticks and star anise on top. Sprinkle with sugar and place a knob of butter on each apple.
5 Bake in the oven for approximately 1 hour and enjoy while still warm.
