Ingredients for 4 servings
- 4 apples
- 100 g (3.5 oz) caster sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 vanilla pods
- 4 star anise
- 60 g (2.1 oz) butter
- 50 g (1.75 oz) raisins
A simple yet excellent dish...
1 Thoroughly clean the apples and remove the cores using an apple corer. Cut the vanilla pods in half, then split them lengthwise.
2 Preheat the oven to 180 °C (355°F) (350 °F).
3 Butter a baking dish or individual dishes and place the apples inside. Insert the vanilla and raisins into the apple cores.
4 Place the cinnamon sticks and star anise on top. Sprinkle with sugar and place a knob of butter on each apple.
5 Bake in the oven for approximately 1 hour and enjoy while still warm.
