Lirac

Rhône Valley
Share
Lirac is a red wine produced in the Rhône region of France, known for its complex character and considerable aromatic richness. It is produced from grape varieties including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, which give it its deep red colour and distinctive flavour. The Lirac vineyard is situated on the slopes of the Rhône, between the towns of Avignon and Nîmes. The vines are cultivated on clay-limestone soils that impart considerable minerality and good acidity. The region's warm, dry climate allows for optimal ripening of the grapes, resulting in wines rich in aromas and tannins. Lirac is recognised for its complex character and substantial aromatic richness. It reveals aromas of red fruits such as cherry, strawberry, and redcurrant, along with spice notes including pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, it is well-structured and tannic, with good length. Lirac is best served at a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, paired with dishes such as grilled red meats, sauced dishes, or mature cheeses. It may also be enjoyed on its own to appreciate the full nuances of its aromatic bouquet.
