Saint-Amour

Burgundy
Share
Saint-Amour is a red wine produced in the Jura region of France. It is made from grape varieties such as Trousseau and Poulsard, which impart complex and fruity flavours to the wine. Saint-Amour is a terroir-driven wine that faithfully reflects the distinctive characteristics of its region of origin. The vineyards are cultivated on granitic and calcareous soils, which contribute a mineral character and balanced acidity to the finished wine. Due to its name, Saint-Amour is often associated with love and romance. It is frequently served at romantic celebrations such as weddings and wedding anniversaries. However, it is equally well suited to accompany red meat dishes and strong cheeses. Saint-Amour is best consumed young, typically enjoyed between one and five years after harvest. That said, it is also a wine that improves with age, becoming more complex and rich in aromatics over time.
