1/ Mix the hot water with the sugar and add 1 teaspoon of Rum in a container and set aside.
2/ Mix the eggs with the sugar.
Put the softened butter in the robot bowl and mix it, once well combined add the egg and sugar mixture little by little.
3/ Add the ground almond powder and mix with a Maryse (or wooden spoon, very important).
Flavor with Rum (1 teaspoon).
4/ Preheat the oven to 200°.
5/ Cut the croissants in half lengthwise. Soak both halves of each croissant and spread a little almond cream.
6/ Place the other half of the croissant on top. Spread a thin layer of almond cream and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
7/ Bake for approximately 15 minutes.

Tips:
Replace the croissants with chocolate croissants or slices of brioche bread, mini cakes, round brioches, milk bread etc...
Replace the almond cream in the center with spread or jam.
