Ingredients
- 1 king cake kit (available in the fresh section)
- 1 whole egg + 1 yolk
- 10 tablespoons of water (60 ml)
- 2 tablespoons of Nutella
1/ Preheat the oven to 210°C (Th.7).
2/ Remove the puff pastry sheets from their freshness packet and let them sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.
3/ Pour the frangipane preparation into a bowl. Add the water, whole egg and mix vigorously for a few minutes.
4/ Unroll one of the 2 puff pastry sheets and place it directly on the oven tray with its baking paper.
5/ Spread the Nutella on the pastry, then distribute the frangipane up to 2 cm from the edges. Insert the bean.
6/ Using a brush, spread some beaten egg around the edge of the pastry then unroll the second pastry over the first. Press the edges of the pastries so they adhere well.
7/ Brush the cake with the remaining beaten egg, then with the back of a sharp knife, delicately draw a pattern of your choice.
8/ Bake for approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
