Ingredients for 4 servings
- 25 cl of water
- 2 tsp of salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 tsp of oil
- 500 g of flour
- 2 packets of baker's yeast
- Poppy seeds (optional)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
1 Put all ingredients in order.
2 Dilute the yeast in water.
3 Meanwhile, put the flour and salt in the robot bowl
and mix.
4 Make a well then pour the oil and water with the yeast.
5 Mix for 5 to 10 minutes.
6 Form a ball, cover with a clean cloth and let rise for 1 hour 30 minutes.
7 Once the rising time is complete, take the dough
and divide it into equal portions.
8 Form balls and place them on the baking sheet covered with baking mat, cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
9 Take each ball, flatten them slightly then make a hole in the middle with your finger and form a fairly large ring (while cooking, it will puff up and the ring will shrink).
10 Cover again and let rest for another 15 minutes.
11 Bring water to a boil in the pot then plunge the bagels 2 by 2 and poach them for 30 seconds on each side.
12 Remove them and place them to drain on absorbent paper.
13 Do the same with each bagel then arrange them on the baking sheet covered with baking mat.
14 Beat the egg for glazing then brush each bagel with it.
15 Then sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds.
16 Bake in preheated oven at 200° (setting 6/7) for 20 minutes, then remove and let cool on a rack.
In a sandwich or simply as a replacement for bread.
