Ingredients for 6 servings
- 2.8 oz (80 g) flour
- 3.5 oz (100 g) cocoa powder
- 3.5 oz (100 g) melted butter
- 8 egg whites
- 7 oz (200 g) icing sugar
1 Mix the flour and icing sugar together in a bowl.
2 Then add the cocoa powder.
3 Add the 3.5 oz (100 g) of melted butter.
4 Finally, pour in the 8 lightly beaten egg whites, adding the icing sugar at the end. Mix well and let rest for 10 minutes.
5 Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) (gas mark 5). On a non-stick baking sheet or parchment paper, spread one tablespoon of batter at a time, being careful as it spreads, and you'll need to bake in several batches. Bake for 7 minutes at 300°F (150°C).
6 When removed from the oven, you have two options: either place them on a rounded cylinder like a broomstick stretched in the kitchen or a rolling pin so they take on the shape of tiles, or mold them in hollow objects like bowls or dessert cups, and then you can use them as bowls to serve your mousses, ice creams, fruit salads, etc.
As you can see, many possibilities await you. The one thing you must remember is to mold your chocolate tiles right out of the oven while they're still soft, because 30 seconds later they'll have hardened. Little tip: go grab your husband's trowel from the toolbox, nothing works better for removing the tiles from the oven. Keep them in a dry place, as chocolate tiles hate moisture.
