Butterbredle is the sweet shortcrust pastry of Alsace, simple and delicious. 500 g of flour, 250 g of butter, sugar and egg yolks: you shape them with a cookie cutter and bake them for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve them golden or glazed with sugar as you prefer. Perfect for celebrations or afternoon tea.
Ingredients
- 17.75 oz (500 g) of flour
- 8.75 oz (250 g) of soft butter
- 8.75 oz (250 g) of sugar
- 4 egg yolks
For glazing or icing, choose one:
- Before baking: 1 egg yolk, a few drops of milk and a pinch of sugar
- After baking: icing sugar and a splash of water (this mixture should be very thick)
