1- Prepare your applesauce: put your 2 peeled, cored apples cut into large dice in a saucepan, then add the cinnamon a few drops of lemon juice and the powdered sugar cook for just 3 minutes (so that you find pieces) and transfer to a small baking sheet.
2- Turn on your oven to 180°C (gas mark 6).
3- Place your shortbread dough on your tart tin (flexipan or non-stick) and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes.
4- Peel, core, then squeeze with lemon juice and finally cut in half and slice into thin strips your 3 remaining apples.
5- Take out your dough spread your applesauce on the bottom then arrange your apples in decreasing circles and bake in the middle of the oven.
6- After 20 minutes of cooking sprinkle your tart with brown sugar and put it back for another 10 minutes.
Certainly this apple tart will be more delicate to cut but it is so delicious that it deserves to be treated with care... The recipe for shortbread dough is available online on our site.
