Step-by-step directions
Melt the butter. In a bowl, warm the milk and add the crumbled baker's yeast and half the sugar. Mix gently and let it rise for 10 minutes. (I must emphasize using baker's yeast otherwise you will not get the expected result). In a mixing bowl, make a well with the flour, crack the 2 eggs into it and add the sugar, butter, risen yeast and a flavoring if you wish (personally, I like them plain). Mix everything together to obtain a homogeneous dough. Add a little flour if the dough sticks to your fingers and work it again. Cover the mixing bowl with a clean cloth and place it in a warm place, away from drafts. Let the dough rise for 2 or 3 hours. After this time, roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 or 2 millimeters and cut out the fritters according to the shape(s) chosen. Do not forget to make a few small slits in the middle of each fritter. Heat a bath of frying oil and plunge the fritters 4 or 5 at a time into it until they are just golden. Place them on a plate, sprinkling them with powdered sugar. Recipe tested by myself, I am very satisfied with it and am sharing it with you....... Best wishes ....Coquinaia... !!!

2 small remarks to this excellent recipe by Isa. For me 30gr of yeast is double what is needed - 15gr maximum for 350gr of flour, and 10cl does not make half a glass but a practically full glass (12cl).
