Here is a traditional recipe for small dry cakes flavored with orange for Easter celebrations.

Ingredients for 6 servings
servings
3.9 oz (110 g) of butter (at room temperature)
5.25 oz (150 g) of sugar
2 eggs
2.8 oz (80 g) of milk
1 packet of baking powder
1 packet of vanilla sugar
16 oz (450 g) of flour
the zest of an untreated orange, grated
1 egg yolk for glazing + 1 egg for the doll :-)
for decoration: chocolate sprinkles, small eggs, M&Ms etc...
Step-by-step directions
1 Preheat the oven to 355°F (180°C) thermostat 6.
2 Mix the butter and sugar until the mixture whitens.
3 Add the eggs one by one, then the baking powder, vanilla sugar, orange zests and flour.
4 Stir everything together the dough should not be sticky, add a little flour if needed.
5 Shape your cakes (small crown, braid, doll with the egg on top crossed with dough, horse, Easter egg etc) coat the cakes.
6 Bake for 25 minutes at 355°F (180°C).

Good little cakes. To make for Easter with your children or grandchildren, you can add candied fruits by sticking them on top or even dip the top when they are cold in caramel or melted chocolate.
