Ingredients
- Basel Leckerli for 2.2 lb (1 kg) :
- 10.5 oz (300g) honey
- 7 oz (200g) sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 level teaspoons of gingerbread spice mix
- 14 oz (400g) white flour
- 0.2 oz (6g) baking powder OR 3g baking soda
- 7 oz (200g) finely chopped unpeeled almonds
- 3.5 oz (100g) candied orange peels, cut into small dice
- 2.1 oz (60g) Kirsch (cherry brandy)
- This amount of dough is suitable for a rectangular baking sheet of approximately 30x40 cm.
- 5.25 oz (150g) powdered sugar
- 6 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon Kirsch
