4.25 oz (120 gr) of grated dark chocolate (more than 50%)
1 small cup of strong coffee (to enhance the chocolate flavor)
1.75 oz (50 gr) of butter and a little oil
2 eggs
1.75 oz (50 gr) of caster sugar
Step-by-step directions
1 Remove the 2 end slices and cut your brioche loaf into 8 slices.
2 Bring your milk, sugar, and cup of coffee to a boil.
3 In a bowl place your grated chocolate then pour the boiling milk, stir then let it cool in the open air.
4 When the liquid is cold, pour it into a shallow dish. place your 8 slices of brioche bread, let them soak for 10 seconds then turn them over, they should have absorbed the chocolate but kept their shape, remove and set aside.
5 In a bowl beat your eggs (like an omelet) then pour the 1.75 oz (50 gr) of caster sugar and mix.
6 Heat the pan with butter and a pinch of oil (to prevent the butter from burning). dip each slice in the beaten eggs on both sides and put them in the pan when the butter is foaming. turn them over, they should be golden brown. Presentation On a nice plate on each side a slice of French toast in the center either serve with a small orange salad or a small bowl of vanilla ice cream. a simple, inexpensive and very flavorful dessert.
