Chénas
BurgundyChenas wine is a red wine produced in the Beaujolais wine region of France. It is made from Gamay grapes, a black grape variety that yields light and fruity wines.
The terroir of Chenas is characterized by soils rich in granite and schist, which impart mineral and spicy notes to the wines produced in this region. The vines are cultivated using organic methods and the harvest is carried out by hand to ensure the quality of the grapes.
Chenas wines are generally ruby red in color, with aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and strawberry. They possess high acidity, moderate tannin content and a fruity finish. They are often considered thirst-quenching wines, best enjoyed young and chilled.
Chenas wines are also highly appreciated for their value, offering excellent quality-to-price ratio for wine enthusiasts. They pair well with red meat dishes, pasta or robust cheeses.
