Pommard
BurgundyPommard is a celebrated vineyard located in Burgundy, France's renowned wine region. It is known for its red wines crafted from Pinot Noir. Pommard wines are regarded among the most powerful and structured wines of the Burgundy region. They display a deep ruby color and aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry and blackcurrant, with undertones of forest floor and terroir.
The vines of Pommard are cultivated on clay-limestone soils, which impart a distinctive character to the wines. Pommard wines are highly valued for their aromatic complexity and aging potential. They are often considered cellar wines, capable of being laid down for many years.
Pommard wines are traditionally paired with rich and flavorful dishes, such as red meats, aged cheeses and sauced preparations. They are equally prized for their capacity to develop further with time and can be enjoyed with more refined cuisine.
