Jurançon Jurançon is a white wine produced in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of southwestern France. It is made from the Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, and Camaralet de Lasseube grape varieties. Gros Manseng is the principal variety used in Jurançon production, yielding wines rich in aromas of exotic fruits and honey. Petit Manseng contributes freshness and vibrancy to the wine, while Camaralet de Lasseube adds aromatic complexity. Jurançon is renowned for its finesse and aromatic complexity. It is elegant and abundant in aromas of exotic fruits, honey, flowers, and minerals. The wine is further characterized by brisk acidity that imparts a pleasant freshness on the palate. Two styles of Jurançon exist: dry Jurançon and sweet Jurançon. Dry Jurançon, produced from Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, is fresh and well-balanced on the palate. Sweet Jurançon, made from the same varieties, is rich and concentrated, displaying aromas of exotic fruits and honey. Jurançon pairs excellently with seafood, fish, and cheese-based dishes. It is equally well suited to desserts based on red berries and nuts.
